Covid, the vaccine, science and morality

Covid, Vaccines, Science and Morality (and religion)

I think that most people know now that there is speculation surrounding the coronovirus whether it is actually naturally occurring or leaked from a lab.

Quite a few claims are that it was leaked from a lab in Wuhan China, after scientists were testing the disease from bats.

One can only ask, if this was the case, why on earth were they testing such things in the first place?

If it really did leak, why would they not say so in the beginning, warn people and take action to prevent it spreading?

While there are some illnesses that come from animals and spread to humans covid does seem suspicious.

After all, bats have been around for centuries and to my knowledge we did not hear of such an illness before.

Chinese people also ate them previously, but still there was no covid.

Therefore, it does seem that something was deliberately influenced or altered to make such a powerful virus.

If scientists are really doing such things, is this really moral?  Should they be allowed to?

People all over the world have suffered, died or lost relatives and friends due to covid.

Yet, we are told that it was in the name of science and a possible mistake.

The problem is that this is not the first and only time we hear of scientific blunders or theories that we are part of their tests.

However, let's be honest, if someone killed many people in order to advance a theory or find out some information we would normally call them a murderer.

Many groups who we call terrorists often have an agenda and think that they are advancing in the world and fighting for a good cause.

Therefore, there is a similarity because they hope to achieve their goals while disregarding humans and their lives

Whether someone wants to advance knowledge or achieve some goal there should be a morality or belief system to protect the interests of people.

When people believe that human life is not really important or that some people can be sacrificed for the greater good this is a problem.

We should not be testing theories, drugs and vaccines on people without their permission and without full knowledge of their consequences.

When people believe that something is going to benefit them and it is not actually known if it will benefit or not they are being decieved.

We now know that in reality, the effects of vaccines for example, are not entirely known.

Although they are claimed to be safe we still hear reports of deaths, of illnesses, thrombosis of the heart, paralysis and other issues after taking the vaccine.

We still hear about people who catch covid after taking the vaccine.

The vaccine is basically being tested on people without their knowledge, this is claim of some sceptics.

The long term effects we have no idea about.

Yet, along with all the other solutions to illnesses and problems, such as chemotherapy for cancer, various other vaccines for a variety of illnesses, drugs and opioids we are told they are all "perfectly safe."

Despite this books, articles and research tell us the dangers of chemotherapy and how it shortens peoples lives and weakens them.

Some vaccines have been linked to illnesses such as autism.

Various drugs and opioids have serious side effects, illnesses, addiction and even suicidal tendencies.

I wonder if "perfectly safe" has the same meaning that is generally understood, or only means it does not cause sudden death.

Now we have vaccine passports, travel restrictions and so forth that are basically forcing people to take it.

When people have no other option or choice, they are being forced.

Yet we are told that there is democracy and the people decide.

Which people are these we wonder?

And why should the scientists have more rights to decide about the lives of people than others.

When science or scientists have no real morality or belief system governing them they seem to feel justified to mislead and cover up their errors.

From reading peoples real life stories and acvounts, it appears that doctors are frequently misdiagnosing people or guessing what their illnesses are.

We know this from reading accounts of real life stories.

At the same time, people are given drugs and medications before they really know what they do to them.

When people take a medicine and the doctors, scientists and others don't truly know whether it is suitable or not they are failing their patients.

They may be harming them

At the very least deceiving them.

According to Islam it is not acceptable for someone to give medical advice without being qualified to do so.

Even if they are correct they did something wrong because they don't have proper knowledge.

If they are wrong and someone is harmed or even dies they have to be held to account.

In fact, talking about things that one does not really know about and does not have certain knowledge about are not the qualities of a Muslim.

We are told in the Quran that the eyes, the ears and the heart will all be called to account on judgement day.

This means that we should not claim to have seen something, heard something or know about something unless we truly have.

On the other hand the Quran tells us to verify information when it comes from an unrighteous person or a dodgy source.

If a immoral person comes to you with some information then verify it, lest you harm others by it.

Therefore, it is wise not listen to false claims and be sceptical when there is lack of evidence.

When we have information that something can cause harm, we should warn others.

Thankfully there are people doing so.

As a narration states: there is no harm and no harming.

In Islam, Science and Religion have always been together.

It is for this reason that science and medicine have a morality that guides people away from false claims and deception.

There may be some at times.

But still, a person is accountable for their claims and actions.

The basic principles are that:

1 ).  All claims and theories put forward should be based on certain and true knowledge rather than speculation.

If someone does not truly know something they should say so and not make false claims.

2). Misleading people is not allowed.

3).  There is no harm and no harming.

It is not allowed to harm people, test drugs in people who believe they are being cured etc.

4). Doctors and others are accountable for information and medicine they put forward and offer.

5 ). Science and medicine are supposed to be for the benefit of people.

Therefore, anything that harms is not an acceptable solution.

People should be fully informed.

Medical care, fees etc should be affordable and services accessible.

They should be offering a service, so give the best treatment and service with the purest intentions etc.

The issue with coronovirus seems to represent serious humanitarian issues throughout the world.

It also highlights the corruption of some of the scientists and even the method of science itself.

That is, if the claims out forward are true.

Therefore, there should be a general morality to protect people and prevent their lives being used and abused for then sake of science.

Both Islam and human rights movements list the right to life as one of the most important and fundamental human rights.

Will scientists recognise this? Or is scientific advancement more important?

Should we put out trust in people who don't mind deception and see advancement as more important than our well being?

Grey hair: its meaning, causes and treatment according to Islam sources

Grey hair: what does it mean, what are the causes and remedies and is it age related Perhaps it's not the most enlightening or uplifting subject but I thought it an interesting subject to talk about. I don't have grey hair but hope to share what I know about why it occurs, if it can be prevented and reversed and what it means. Since some stereotypes are that grey hair only sprouts after forty. Yet we see people in their thirties or even younger with grey hair at times.  At other times some people don't go grey until their sixties or not at all. Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him did not go grey until he was over sixty and this is probably how it should be if we looked after ourselves. It will be interesting to discuss why he may not have had many grey hairs at his passing at 63 years old. Grey hair is said to be one of the first signs of aging, and is often said to coincide with muscle weakening, general weakening of eye sight, hearing and physical strength.   It can some...

Freedom of Speech, human rights and Islam: its reality and limitations

Freedom of speech and its limits: comparing human rights law and Islamic law We are often told that modern society has, “freedom of speech.” Freedom of speech is a human right under article 19 of the human rights act and international law as formulated by the UN.   Some countries have freedom of speech as part of constitutional law. Freedom of speech, free speech and freedom of expression are often used interchangeably. The term covers activities that involve seeking, imparting knowledge or finding out knowledge regardless of the method used. When we hear that we have freedom of speech we understand that we can say whatever we want.   Eleanor Roosevelt and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948)—Article 19 states that "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."[1] This was ...

Stress: Islamic advice to deal with it

Stress has been defined as feelings of tension due to psychological, emotional or physical factors. Most people, particularly in the modern world experience some degree of stress. We feel stressed from our jobs, from dealing with difficult people and customers and having to meet deadlines, at school or university. Anything that makes us feel tension can be a source of stress. We can feel stressed in our relationships at times. Maybe we don't feel understood or we have unmet needs. Distress is a negative type of stress, and describes the state of someone experiencing tension. We tend to feel stressed when we feel we are not in control of a situation. The less control we feel the more stressed we feel. New events, even positive, such as moving house, getting married, having a child or starting or leaving a job can all make us feel stressed. Unemployment, lack of provisions and being in unsuitable jobs or relationships can all make us feel stressed. When we feel unde...
